围仔社区 Participatory Micro-Renewal for Child-Friendly Public Space

In Shenzhen's urban villages, public space is often physically open yet socially unclaimed.

Over six months, six co-creation events with children and families — behavioral observation, workshops, prototype testing, and on-site feedback — produced a modular outdoor furniture system adaptable to shifting everyday scenarios. The project reframes participation not as a phase appended to design, but as the material the design is made of. Presented at the IFLA 2025 World Congress.
