Urban villages house not only the young workers who power the city, but also an invisible population: the "drifting elderly" — aging parents who migrate to follow their adult children, and who find themselves socially unclaimed by the very city their families serve. This thesis redesigns the urban village with this population as its primary user, testing how incremental, infill-scale interventions — shared courtyards, care-oriented public space, intergenerational programs — can turn a transitional settlement into a place where aging is not merely housed, but held.
